The Play that Goes Wrong is a new comedy, and recent Broadway hit, being called “the funniest play Broadway has ever seen” (The Huffington Post) and “A Gut-Busting Hit!” (The New York Times).  

This classic murder mystery is chock-full of mishaps and madcap mania and set on opening night of The Murder at Haversham Manor where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous.  With an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including the lines).

Cost: Lunch will be on our own at Maynard’s (as a group).

The colors have reached their peak and are fading fast. I hate to think that winter is right around the corner! Always sad to see fall come to an abrupt end. I  know there’s still a worry about COVID.  Unless you’re waiting for J&J or Moderna like me, you should have gotten your booster or at least an appointment by now—most of us are eligible. If not—get your’s and get out this month for some fun with The Wanderers!

The  last walk of the season will be Thursday, September 30th. Due to Covid-19 changes, Southdale Mall does not open until 11:00am, so we are unable to move indoors.  We’ll start back up in the spring, or earlier, if Southdale opens earlier.  Stay safe.  We meet us at the “Big Clock” outside of the Hughes Pavilion.  Walk around the lake or as much or as little as your legs allow. 1940 Glenwood Parkway and Glenwood Ave in Minneapolis 

This is the oldest public wildflower garden in the US.  In 1907, was created as a botany laboratory and is now home to more than 500 plant and 130 bird species.

A carpool will leave the Perkin’s parking lot (50th/#100) at 1:30PM.  Please let Jane know if you plant to meet us there, or at the Garden at 2:00PM

The Lyndale Park Gardens encompass the Peace Garden, Rose Garden, Annual & Perennial Garden, and a Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden. The Peace Garden features hardy alpine plants and dwarf conifers and begins blooming in mid-April. The Annual/Perennial peaks in mid-June and the Rose Garden typically begins blooming in mid-June and lasts until early October. Butterflies and hummingbirds can be seen throughout the summer.

Located on the northeast shore of Lake Harriet, on Roseway Road between East Lake Harriet Parkway and King’s Highway (aka Dupont Avenue South.)

NEEEDLECRAFTERS: Tuesdays, September 14th and 28th, 1:00PM—Southdale Library

The Needlework group will resume meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month in the 2nd floor conference room. Whatever your knitting, crocheting or craft skill level, we’d love to have you join us!  You can even bring your mending!  Just come—learn or just chat over your project.  A mask is required at this time to enter the library.  You may bring covered beverages into the conference room.

We hope to have space to meet at the Harriet and Alice yarn shop in Edina by the first of the year.

Celebrate summer! Come with The Wanderers on our 3rd annual 2-hour cruise on beautiful Lake Minnetonka.  Enjoy visiting with members that you have and haven’t met.  
Take in the magnificent sights of the lake and sip your favorite beverage (cash bar) while enjoying a beautiful buffet of their most popular appetizers. Since 1973 Al & Alma’s has been offering dinner cruises.  It’s the perfect way to take in the sites and fantastic history of Lake Minnetonka.
The captain and crew share stories of the lake, point out beautiful estates, and navigate the shores, channels, many bays and islands of the lake.  Boarding begins at 6:00pm; boat departs promptly at 6:30pm and returns to port at 8:30pm.  Cost is $48/person.
