ACTIVITIES

LUNCH BUNCH: Saturday, April 9th, Noon—George & The Dragon
813 W 50th Street., Minneapolis
This neighborhood restaurant modeled after an English pub or public house. Back in the day, the pub was more than a place to get a beer. It was also a gathering place for the community, a place for a traveler to get a room for the night, and of course the place to enjoy a delicious home cooked meal. The Wanderers have been here before and were very pleased with the food and the selection of craft beers.
RSVP by April 7 to Carol Schaub at Carol.Schaub@comcast.net
Directions: 50th Street East to Bryant Ave. Allow a bit of extra time to find parking!

COFFEE BREAK: Wednesday, April 13th at 10:00AM—at The Original Pancake House-3501 W. 70th Street, Edina 952-920-4444.

INTERNATIONAL EVENING: Thursday, April 21, 7:00 PM – at the home of A Member
Have you ever wondered about “the land down under”???? Did you know that New Zealand was the first country to give women the right to vote? Or that Australia has the most exotic flora and fauna in the world? Anne Shea and Val Hessburg, members of The Wanderers, just returned from a month of touring New Zealand and Australia and are excited to share their travels. They took a plethora of photos just for you. While traveling they were awed at amazing scenery, fabulous festivals, superb food and wine, and magical outdoor experiences. Anne and Val traveled with a group of 14 from The Friendship Force, staying with local country hosts who open up their homes to visitors from other countries and cultures. Unlike most tours, they experienced the culture in both countries at the personal level – sharing meals, conversation and the routines of daily life.
Officers of The Friendship Force, a huge international adult exchange program, will be joining us to share this unique program that was established worldwide over 30 years ago. Being an “ambassador” for the U.S. to other countries or hosting others from another country in your home, allows you to “place faces with places”.
RSVP by Monday, April 18th to Anne@The WanderersMSP.org

BOOKS & BOOZE: Tuesday, April 26th, 3:45PM—Macy’s Lakeshore Grill
Macy’s Southdale—Lower Level

Macy’s was such a great success in December – we are going back! Great food, snacks and a round table too. Since 1905 Macy’s has been feeding the shopping population. This is a great place to find regional favorites and outstanding traditional classics. Proudly presenting a great casual cuisine, the Lakeshore Grill is where you can actually hear people talking to one another – no loud music! Fabulous appetizers, wine and beer from $3 – $5. Just come even if you have not read this great book.
