ACTIVITIES

FLICKS & FUN: Tuesday, June 5th, 2:00PM—“Book Club”

Southdale AMC Theater

We’ll see this comedy about four friends whose lives are turned upside down when their book club tackles Fifty Shades of Grey. They inspire each other to make their next chapter of their lives the best yet.  Review: “a fun, light-hearted rom-com for the elder set and a gentle reminder that life is long and love is not just for the young.” As of today, the movie starts at 2:05 p.m., but that could change. (I will let anyone who RSVPs know if the time changes.) Let’s meet five minutes earlier near the refreshment stand to introduce ourselves and walk into the movie together. After the movie we will meet at PF Changs about 4:00PM for happy hour.

RSVP by Monday. June 4th LynnJ@TheWanderersMSP.org

NIGHT-TIME BOOK TALK:  Monday, July 16th, 7:00 PM – Lunds & Byerly’s Mezz
France Ave. at Hazelton Road, Edina
Pope Joan, by Donna Cross

” Pope Joan has all the elements one wants in a historical drama – love, sex, violence, duplicity, and long-buried secrets.” In this international bestseller and basis for the 2009 movie, Cross brings the Dark Ages to life in all their brutal splendor and shares the dramatic story of a woman whose strength of vision led her to defy the social restrictions of her day. For a thousand years her existence has been denied. She is the legend that will not die–Pope Joan, the ninth-century woman who disguised herself as a man and rose to become the only female ever to sit on the throne of St. Peter.
